Day 11 Fasting: Calm Clarity and Real Shifts

The Shift You Can Feel

Eleven days in and something’s genuinely different.

Not just lighter clothes or tighter skin — though that’s happening. It’s the quality of thought. My brain’s running on a different fuel now, and the clarity is unmistakable.

This morning: 13 stone 7. Nearly a stone and a half gone in 10.5 days. Physically I’m a 7/10, mentally an 8. Sleep was patchy — four and a half hours plus a two-hour nap — but I’m upbeat and functioning. Mood’s steady. Food smells are there, noticed, appreciated, then dismissed.

The interesting bit? How my mind feels. Not wired. Not buzzing. Calmly ahead of my thoughts instead of chasing them.

That’s ketones at work.

What Fasted Clarity Actually Feels Like

There’s a lot of talk about “mental sharpness” during fasting. But it’s rarely explained well.

Here’s what I’m noticing: it’s quieter. Smoother. Like my brain’s found a better gear.

Not hyper or jittery — that’s caffeine or adrenaline. This is different. More efficient. More ahead of problems instead of reacting to them.

The reason? My body’s running on ketones now, not glucose. Ketones fuel the brain more steadily. No spikes, no crashes. Just consistent, calm energy.

It’s not hype. It’s chemistry.

The Daily Support Protocol

Keeping a long fast clean means sticking to basics:

  • Water (plenty of it)
  • Black coffee (morning ritual)
  • Aqua Libra (two cans today — flavour without disruption)
  • Electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium)
  • Vitamins K and D (bone and immune support)
  • Light walks (two today, nothing intense)

Sleep’s the weak spot. Four and a half hours overnight, topped up with a nap. Not ideal, but manageable. Mood stayed steady at an 8/10 despite the disrupted rest.

Food smells were around — gentle wafts, nothing aggressive. I noticed them, appreciated them (I really did), and moved on. That feels like progress.

The Autophagy Question

People ask about drinks that “break autophagy.”

I’ve tested this on myself across multiple fasts. Dash and Aqua Libra don’t knock me out of autophagy. They give me a different taste, which makes the length of the fast more manageable.

Everybody’s different. Some people feel stricter works better. For me, these flavoured waters haven’t disrupted the benefits I’m tracking.

Your mileage may vary. Test, observe, adjust.

The Real Gold Isn’t the Scale

Yes, the numbers are moving. Nearly a stone and a half in 10.5 days. That’s significant.

But here’s what matters more: how I feel in my skin and in my head.

The tightening. The mental clarity. The steady mood despite broken sleep. The ability to notice food, appreciate it, and choose not to eat without inner conflict.

That’s the shift.

The scale’s a useful marker. But the real transformation is happening in how your body and brain operate day to day.

If you’re on your own journey — fast or slow scale movement — focus on how you feel. That’s the compass that matters.

🎯 Key Takeaways

True progress is how you feel — Not just what the scale says

Ketone clarity is real — It’s not hype; it’s a quieter, steadier mental state

Sleep matters but isn’t make-or-break — Patchy rest didn’t derail mood or function

Flavoured waters work for me — Aqua Libra/Dash don’t disrupt autophagy in my experience (test for yourself)

Food smells are manageable — Notice, appreciate, move on — that’s the pattern

Weight’s moving fast — 13 stone 7 (nearly 1.5 stone lost in 10.5 days)

0:01Hey folks, welcome to day 11 of my

0:04journey. And I’ve got to say, things are

0:06getting really interesting.

0:08Physically today, I’m sitting at a solid

0:10seven out of 10 and mentally a good

0:12eight. That’s a noticeable shift from

0:15the last few days. My skin’s tightening

0:17up all over. Clothes are literally

0:19falling off me. And the scales this

0:21morning, 13 stone, seven and 78. Nearly

0:24a stone and a half gone in just 10 and a

0:26half days.

0:28Sleepwise, I managed four and a half

0:30hours, then topped it up with a two-hour

0:32nap. Not ideal, but I’m functioning and

0:35surprisingly upbeat. Moodwise, I’ve been

0:38steady and quite chipper.

0:40Food smells have been gently wafting

0:43temptations, but nothing strong enough

0:45to throw me off. I noticed them,

0:48appreciated them, and I really did

0:50appreciate them, and moved on, which

0:52honestly feels like a win. To support

0:55the fast, I kept it clean. Lots of

0:58water, black coffee, a few cans of Aqua

1:00Libra today, two light walks,

1:03electrolytes, and I’ve been taking

1:05vitamins K and D. That combo is working

1:08for me right now.

1:10One thing I want to highlight today is

1:12the quality of mental alertness I’m

1:14feeling, and it’s not your usual buzz.

1:16It’s not wired or hyper. It’s like my

1:20brain has changed gears. This fasted

1:23clarity

1:24feels quieter,

1:26smoother, almost like I’m calmly ahead

1:29of my thoughts instead of chasing them.

1:32That’s likely because my body is now

1:34running on ketones instead of glucose,

1:37which fuel the brain more efficiently

1:39and steadily.

1:41It’s not hype, it’s chemistry.

1:43I also want to mention something about

1:45autophagy.

1:47While I’m keeping to water, black

1:48coffee, and carbonated water, I found

1:51based on my own testings and previous

1:53fasts that drinks like Dash or Aqualibra

1:57don’t knock me out of autophagy.

2:01They give me a different taste, which

2:02just makes the length of the fast go a

2:05little bit better.

2:07But everybody’s different, but for me,

2:10those flavored waters haven’t disrupted

2:12the benefits.

2:15There haven’t been any big new habits

2:16yet, but the changes in my body and mind

2:20are loud and clear. If you’re watching

2:22this on your own journey,

2:25know this. The scale may move fast, it

2:28may move slow, but the real gold is how

2:31you feel in your skin and in your head.

2:36This journey about true health,

2:40not just weight.
