THE PATTERN

What Seventy Days Actually Looks Like

Day one, sixth of October, 197.5 lbs, fourteen stone two. Day seventy-two, sixteenth of December, 183.4 lbs, thirteen stone one. Fourteen point one pounds down, net. That’s the tidy version.

The real version has a chocolate bar in it. Third of December, a proper cheat day, seven and a half thousand calories in one sitting. Two days later the scales jumped. I wrote it down anyway.

Last day of the Challenge, I logged something I didn’t expect to write: I hated fasting that day. Not the first time that has happened since the twenty-one day water fast back in July. I can’t explain the connection. It’s in the data twice now, so it stays in the data.

Watch It Unfold, Day by Day

The numbers above are the summary. If you want the day-by-day version, the actual diary entries with what I was thinking at the time, that lives in Watch & Read, not here. This page is the data. That’s the story.

One Person. Seventy Days. Documented.

This is N=1, me, my own data, nothing bigger than that. I can’t tell you it will look the same for you. What I can tell you is exactly what it looked like for me, because it’s all above.

Educational content only, not medical advice. Never stop or change medication without your GP’s supervision. I stopped my own medications on my own initiative and told my GP afterwards — that’s not the approach I’m recommending. Every change since has been tracked with regular blood tests. Speak to your GP before changing your fasting pattern, diet, or medication.
