Day 15 Fasting: Hunger, Healing & Loose Skin

The Garden Nap Strategy

Day 15. Seven out of 10 physically. Energy’s been steady, if a bit indifferent.

Only six hours of sleep last night, so I made up for it with a glorious 90-minute nap in the garden. Sun on my face, completely still, absolutely blissful. Highly recommended.

Mentally, also a seven. Mood’s good, but I feel a bit fragile today. So I’m being gentle with myself.

Here’s what made today tricky: the fresh bread counter at the shop. The smell was amazing. Warm, yeasty, proper temptation. But I walked past without giving in. Funny how the senses can test you when your guard’s down.

Supporting the Fast (Day 15 Toolkit)

What kept me steady today:

  • Morning walk
  • Electrolytes (maintaining sodium, potassium, magnesium)
  • K2 and D3 vitamins
  • Plenty of water
  • Coffee (black, obviously)
  • Bit of Aqualibra
  • Sunlight (lots of it)
  • That garden nap (worth mentioning twice)

No major challenges beyond the bread counter. The cravings are manageable now. Your mind adapts. Your body adapts. You realise you’re far stronger than you thought.

The Numbers Tell a Story

Measurements today show real progress:

  • Waist: Down 1 inch
  • Hips: Down 1 inch
  • Thigh: Down half an inch
  • Neck: Down a quarter inch
  • Weight: Down half a pound
  • Chest: Holding steady

And here’s the thing I’ve noticed: skin’s got a bit of slack now. All over. Loose in places where there used to be tightness.

This is where autophagy comes in. Nature’s own recycling service.

Hunger Doesn’t Disappear—It Just Gets Manageable

One thing I want to say clearly: hunger doesn’t just vanish. It really doesn’t.

But it becomes far more manageable when you stick with it. Your mind adjusts. Your body learns. The panic around missing a meal fades.

Day 15, and I’m not fighting hunger every hour. I’m noticing it, acknowledging it, and letting it pass. That’s the shift.

Autophagy: Your Body’s Recycling Service

The loose skin you see during extended fasting isn’t permanent. When you fast, your body ramps up autophagy—a process where it breaks down old, damaged cells and recycles them.

Over time, that can help tighten excess skin. But it takes patience.

What supports the process:

  • Hydration (water throughout the day)
  • Electrolytes (keeping mineral balance steady)
  • Rest (sleep and naps like today’s garden session)
  • Time (autophagy works gradually, not overnight)

Every inch lost, every craving managed, every nap in the garden—it’s all part of building a body and mind that feels strong, clear, and truly yours.

🎯 Key Takeaways

  • Hunger adapts — It doesn’t disappear, but it becomes far more manageable over time
  • Loose skin is normal — Autophagy helps recycle old cells and tighten skin gradually
  • Measurements matter — Inches lost (waist, hips, thighs) show progress beyond the scale
  • Sleep supports healing — Six hours at night + 90-minute nap = recovery boost
  • Magnesium helps mood — Extra magnesium before bed can settle the nervous system when you feel fragile

One Practical Tip: Magnesium Before Bed

If your mood feels fragile during a fast, try a little extra magnesium before bed. It can help your nervous system settle and may support better sleep.

Sleep really is the secret sauce for getting through extended fasts. The better you rest, the easier hunger becomes.

0:02Day 15. Uh, physically today, I’d say

0:05I’m about a seven out of 10. Energy’s

0:08been a bit indifferent, but steady

0:10enough. I only got about six hours of

0:13sleep last night, so I made up for it

0:15with a glorious 90minute nap in the

0:18garden in the sun this afternoon. That

0:20was amazing. Highly recommended.

0:24Mentally, I’m also around a seven. Um,

0:27my mood’s good, but I do feel a bit

0:29fragile today. So, I am being gentle

0:32with myself.

0:34One thing that made today a bit tricky

0:36was going shopping and the Fred bread

0:39bread counter. The smell was amazing,

0:43but I managed to walk past it without

0:45giving in. Um, it’s funny how the senses

0:48can test you.

0:50To support my fast today, I got in a

0:52walk, some electrolytes, my K2 and D3

0:55vitamins, plenty of water, coffee, bit

0:58of aqualibra, lots of sunlight, and of

1:02course, that little snooze in the garden

1:04was bliss. I didn’t have any real big

1:07challenges or cravings today. Um, apart

1:10from that bread temptation, I held

1:12strong and the numbers are shifting.

1:14I’ve lost an inch off my waist and hips,

1:16half an inch off my thigh, a quarter

1:17inch off my neck, and half a pound in

1:19weight. Chest is holding steady. I’ve

1:23noticed that all over my body. Um, the

1:27skin’s got a bit of slack now. Um, and

1:30I’m really looking forward to the

1:31autophagy doing its thing and munching

1:33away at all those bits. Um, nature’s own

1:36recycling service.

1:39One thing I do want to say is to anyone

1:42following this, the hunger doesn’t

1:46just disappear. It really doesn’t. But

1:49it’s amazing how much more manageable it

1:51becomes

1:55when you stick with it. It’s your mind

1:57adapts, your body adapts,

2:00and you realize that you’re far stronger

2:02than you think.

2:05The other thing is that loose skin

2:07you’re seeing when you fast. Your body

2:08ramps up autophagy,

2:11a process where it breaks down old

2:13damaged cells and recycles them. Over

2:17time, that can help with the excess

2:19skin. But it takes patience. Staying

2:21hydrated, maintaining the electrolytes,

2:24and giving your body enough time to rest

2:26and repair all help the process along.

2:31Every inch lost, every craving managed,

2:33every nap in the garden, it’s all part

2:35of the real health journey. Remember,

2:37this isn’t just about weight loss. It’s

2:39about building a body and mind that

2:41feels strong, clear,

2:45and truly yours.

2:49If your mood feels fragile,

2:51try maybe a little extra magnesium

2:53before bed. It can help your nervous

2:55system settle and may support better

2:58sleep,

3:00which sleep really is the secret source

3:03for getting through this fast.
