Same Weight, Different Body: 7 Inches Lost at 13 Stone 3

The Scale Lied to Me (Again)

Day 44 of the Rhythm Reset. Stood in front of the mirror this morning. 13 stone 3 and a quarter. Slightly over a number I hit back in summer after a brutal 21-day water fast.

But here’s what the scale didn’t tell me: chest down 2 inches, waist down 1.5, hips down 2, thigh down 1, neck down a quarter inch. Seven inches total. Same weight. Completely different body.

This is what six weeks of consistent rhythm looks like. Not perfection. Not restriction. Just pattern. And the difference between this time and summer? I’m actually holding it.

Summer vs Now: Two Routes, Same Weight, Different Results

Back in summer, I did the classic extreme approach. Twenty-one days of water fasting. Lost the weight fast. Hit 12 stone 13 and 3 quarters. Felt accomplished.

Then the bounce back hit like a freight train. Water weight, inflammation, straight back on within weeks. The measurements never changed much anyway. I’d shrunk, but not really reshaped.

Fast forward to now. Six weeks of eating and fasting rhythm. Same scale number. But the tape measure tells a completely different story. Muscle’s held. Fat’s gone. Body composition has actually shifted.

And the rebound? Nothing. Zero. It’s just… holding. Steady. No dramatic swings. No panic at the scales.

What I Actually Ate (Spoiler: Not Perfect)

This was an eating day. 13:00 to 18:30 window. Five and a half hours. Here’s what went in:

  • Sausage roll for lunch (not exactly textbook, is it?)
  • Spinach and carrot soup
  • Mango chutney glazed salmon
  • Rye crackers with cheese
  • Handful of nuts and berries

Total: 1,478 calories. 36 plants tracked.

The sausage roll? Yeah, that happened. That’s the entire point of documenting this series. Show you what actually works in the real world, not some pristine version nobody can stick to.

The Lesson: Rhythm Beats Restriction (Every Time)

Summer approach: Extreme restriction. Fast results. Massive rebound. Worse body composition.

Current approach: Consistent pattern. Room for mistakes. Zero rebound. Better measurements despite same weight.

You don’t have to be perfect to see results. You just have to keep the rhythm going. Most days. Most weeks. That’s enough.

The visual difference on this last half stone is more surprising than the entire stone before it. Because this time, my body’s actually changing shape. Not just losing water and shrinking temporarily.

This is metabolic flexibility in action. Not perfect. Not rigid. Just consistent rhythm with space to be human.

🎯 Key Takeaways

  • Same weight, different body — Scale weight doesn’t tell the whole story; measurements and visual changes matter more
  • Summer bounce vs steady rhythm — 21-day water fast produced rebound; 6-week eating rhythm holds results
  • Consistency over perfection — 36 plants and a sausage roll on the same day proves you don’t need perfection to progress

Day 44. Stood in front of the mirror this morning. Same weight I hit back in summer. But something’s completely different this time.

Six weeks into the Rhythm Reset. Eating day. 13:00 to 18:30 window. Weigh-in day. And the measurements tell a story the scale doesn’t.

13 stone 3 and a quarter. Same number I hit at the end of my 21-day fast in summer. But the tape measure? Chest down 2 inches. Waist down 1.5. Hips down 2. Thigh down 1. Neck down a quarter inch.

I can see it. The visual difference on this last half stone is more surprising than the entire stone before it. Body composition’s shifted. Muscle’s held. Fat’s gone.

And here’s the thing — back in summer, the bounce back was brutal. Water weight, inflammation, straight back on. This time? Nothing. Steady. Holding.

All while making mistakes pretty much daily. Sausage roll for lunch. Not exactly textbook. But that’s the point of this whole series — show you what actually happens in the real world, not some perfect version nobody can maintain.

5 and a half hour window. 1478 calories. Sausage roll. Spinach and carrot soup. Mango chutney glazed salmon. Rye crackers with cheese. Handful of nuts and berries.

36 plants today. Even with the dodgy lunch choice.

Summer: 21-day water fast, same weight, worse measurements, massive rebound.

Now: 6 weeks of rhythm, same weight, better measurements, zero rebound.

The difference? Consistent pattern. Not extreme restriction.

This is what metabolic flexibility actually looks like. Not perfect. Not rigid. Just consistent rhythm with room for mistakes.

You don’t have to be perfect to see results. You just have to keep the rhythm going. Most days. Most weeks. That’s enough.

If you’re thinking about starting your own rhythm, I’ve built a free 14-Day Rhythm Reset Guide. Everything I’ve learned from these 44 days, compressed into a 2-week starter plan. Link’s in the description.

Day 44. Same number, different body. That’s what steady rhythm gives you.
