Day six. The point where the noise settles and rhythm takes over.
Physically, I’m steady. Hunger comes and goes in waves, but nothing dramatic. The real curveball? Sleep. Six hours total, but broken — an hour wide awake in the middle of the night. Unusual for me, but I’m adapting.
Mood’s holding at 8 out of 10. Emotionally stable. No extra stress. Sometimes a boring day is exactly what you need.
But here’s the thing: I’ve crossed the one stone mark since starting this journey. 13 stone 12.5 on the scales. And the non-scale wins? Even better. Body tighter. Brain fog lifted. And something I didn’t expect: I spent 20 minutes with a neighbour’s cat on my lap this morning. No allergic reaction. For 50 years, I couldn’t go near cats. Now? Nothing.
That’s why this is way more than weight loss.
The Sleep Disruption (And Why I’m Not Worried)
Six hours total. But not six hours straight.
An hour awake in the middle of the night. Just… awake. Brain ticking. Body calm. No panic, no frustration. Just waiting for sleep to come back.
It’s unusual for me. My sleep’s normally solid. But extended fasting can sometimes shift sleep patterns in the first week. Your body’s adjusting. Switching fuel sources. Hormones recalibrating.
I’m not concerned. It’s day six. If it becomes a pattern, I’ll adjust. For now, I’m watching and adapting.
Movement: Keeping the Routine, Not Breaking Records
Thirty-minute walk. Some light exercise. Nothing heroic.
And that’s the point.
On fasting days, movement isn’t about performance. It’s about maintaining the routine. Keeping blood flowing. Clearing the head. Not sitting still for 16 hours.
I’m not chasing records. I’m keeping the engine ticking over.
The Chocolate Craving (That Wasn’t Really About Chocolate)
Random craving for chocolate appeared today. Funny thing is, I don’t even eat much chocolate anymore.
Cravings aren’t always about what you think you want. Sometimes they’re:
- Boredom signals — your brain looking for stimulation
- Stress relief habits — hand-to-mouth autopilot
- Pattern triggers — time of day, situation, environment
I noticed the craving. Acknowledged it. Moved on.
That’s the work. The gap between noticing and reacting differently.
The One Stone Milestone (And What It Actually Means)
13 stone 12.5. Over a stone lost since starting.
That’s good progress. But it’s not the full picture.
The non-scale changes are what matter:
- Body composition shift — skin firming up, muscles more visible
- Brain fog lifted — mental clarity back
- Energy steadier — no afternoon crashes
- Zero cat allergies — 50 years of reactions, gone
That last one? Massive. I’ve been allergic to cats my entire life. This morning, a neighbour’s cat sat on me for 20 minutes. No reaction. No itchy eyes, no sneezing, no wheezing.
That’s not weight loss. That’s systemic change. That’s why I call this Way More Than Weight Loss.
The Power of Boring Days
Nothing dramatic today. No big challenges. No temptations. Just steady progress.
And sometimes that’s the best kind of day.
Consistency beats drama. Every single time.
You don’t need fireworks. You need rhythm. You need days where the plan just… works. No heroics required.
Today was one of those days.
🎯 Key Takeaways
- Over a stone lost — 13 stone 12.5, steady progress since day one

0:03Hey everyone, it’s day six of my journey
0:06and I’m honestly starting to find my
0:07stride. Physically been pretty steady.
0:10Hunger’s come and gone in waves, but
0:12nothing too dramatic. Uh the real
0:14curveball was sleep last night. Six
0:17hours in total, but broken up with uh a
0:19stretch of being wide awake for an hour.
0:21Um which is unusual for me. Uh still no
0:24odd symptoms, just powering through and
0:26adapting. Moodwise, another solid eight
0:28out of 10. I’m holding a steady line
0:30emotionally. Um,
0:33which makes the rest of this so much
0:34more manageable. No extra stresses or
0:36tricky situations today. Sometimes a
0:39boring day is exactly what you need. Uh,
0:42for movement, I got in a 30 minute walk
0:44and some light exercise. No records
0:47broke, that’s for sure. But keeping the
0:49routine going, that’s what seems to
0:51matter. The only real temptation was a
0:53random craving for chocolate, which is
0:56funny because I’m not even that bothered
0:58about chocolate anymore. Um, just goes
1:01to show cravings are always about what
1:03you actually want. Now, for a big bit of
1:06a milestone, weighed in at 13 stone 12
1:10and a half, which means I’ve lost over a
1:11stone since starting. That’s really
1:13good. Um, but as you know, it’s not just
1:16the scale. My body feels noticeably
1:18tighter. the skin’s firming up in places
1:20and the bra brain fog has lifted. Um
1:24these non-scale changes um keep me
1:26motivated as much as the numbers.
1:29The other thing was um one of the
1:31neighbors cats came and decided to sit
1:33on me for 20 minutes this morning when I
1:35was having a break outside and
1:38absolutely no allergic reactions. For 50
1:41years of my life, I’ve been allergic to
1:43cats. Couldn’t go near them. This thing
1:45smothered me and no problems. And it’s
1:49been like that for 18 months. That’s why
1:51this is so much more than weight loss. I
1:53don’t have allergies anymore. It’s
1:55brilliant. Um
1:59to my future self and anyone on this
2:01path, keep the end goal in sight.
2:03Progress might be gradual, but every day
2:04adds up. Gutwise,
2:07everything’s ticking along just fine.
2:10Really good. All hunky dory. Um, and a
2:13final tip, on days when nothing much
2:15happens, celebrate the calm. Consistency
2:18beats drama every single time.
2:21Remember, it’s way more than weight
2:23loss. This is about building real health
2:25and habits you can actually live with.
2:27Let’s go for it.
