ABOUT NEIL

I’m Not a Doctor. I’ve Just Got blood tests going back to 2012.

Six medications stopped. Five stone gone as of August 2026. Every number checked by my GP, not just me.

Boxing Day 2023, I was eighteen stone, fifty years old, and on six different medications, and I’d quietly started believing that was just what fifty felt like. It wasn’t. What changed things wasn’t a diet, a supplement, or a YouTube video. It was NHS blood tests going back to 2012, finally put to proper use.

THE STARTING POINT

Eighteen Stone, Six Medications, Convinced This Was Just Getting Older

By fifty, I’d been on statins since 2016, allopurinol for the gout since 2000, and asthma inhalers since 1978, I was five. Add ezetimibe to keep the cholesterol down and antihistamines for the allergies, and that’s six medications, every single day, just to stand still.

I’d tried the standard advice. Eat less. Move more. Count the calories. None of it moved the number, and none of it explained why I felt worse at fifty than I had at forty.

Boxing Day 2023, I looked in the mirror and stopped pretending it was fine. Not a New Year’s resolution, just a week early, out of sheer bloody-mindedness.

The Mirror Moment

Boxing Day 2023. Not a health scare, not an ambulance, nothing dramatic. Just a mirror, and the sudden, unglamorous realisation that “getting older” had been doing a lot of heavy lifting for what was actually just getting worse. I didn’t join a gym that day. I started reading.

The GP Appointment That Changed the Story

Eight weeks in, I brought my latest bloods to my GP. He looked at them, looked at me, and said it straight: “Bloody hell, what’ve you been doing?” By February 2024, I was off every one of the six medications. Not because I’d decided I was ready. Because the numbers said I was.

Not a Guru. Just Someone Who Kept the Receipts.

I’m not a doctor, a nutritionist, or a personal trainer. I spent eighteen years running a kitchen business up to three million pounds in turnover, and when my own health fell apart, I did the only thing I actually knew how to do. I treated it like an operations problem. Track everything. Change one input at a time. Trust the data over the feeling.

That’s the whole method. No hype, nothing hidden, and nothing you need to buy to hear it. Just the same blood tests going back to April 2012, and a decision I made on Boxing Day that I’ve kept documenting ever since.

This is one person’s data. Mine. I can’t promise it will work the same way for you, and I won’t pretend otherwise. But I can show you exactly what happened, when, and what my GP said about it at every step.

It’s not just about fasting, either. Fasting opened the door, but the full system, sleep, food and fasting, movement, and mindset, is what actually holds it together. See how the four layers fit together →

Educational content only, not medical advice. Never stop or change medication without your GP’s supervision. I stopped my own medications on my own initiative and told my GP afterwards — that’s not the approach I’m recommending. Every change since has been tracked with regular blood tests. Speak to your GP before changing your fasting pattern, diet, or medication.
